Every year, banks are introducing more and more automatic services and electronic services to make the banking process for their customers faster and more convenient. Now almost any payment or money transfer can be made online without being physically present in the office. This includes tax payments, which citizens of the Russian Federation are required to make annually on time. Sberbank has tried to simplify this procedure for its clients as much as possible, read about it further.

Is it possible to pay taxes through Sberbank Online?

The answer is definitely “Yes”. In Sberbank's Internet banking, you will not only be able to pay transport tax or property tax, but you will also do it without any commission in a matter of minutes. All you need is a laptop with internet access!

Please note: payment is only possible with a bank card!

Conventionally, the entire process of paying taxes through Sberbank Online can be divided into 4 stages:

  1. Search and selection of services
  2. Filling in details
  3. Confirmation
  4. Getting the operation status

After authorization in your personal account, go to the Payments and transfers tab in the main menu and in the Payment for purchases and services block, find the link “Federal Tax Service”

Among all services and departments, select Search and payment of taxes to the Federal Tax Service and follow the instructions.

How to pay taxes through the Sberbank Online application?

In the Sberbank Online mobile application you can pay current taxes, as well as find and pay overdue taxes.

Step 1. Authorization and payment selection

To get started, open the official application from Sberbank and log into it using your password.

In the main application menu, find the section Payments and go into it. Scroll the screen a little lower and find the item in the general list of all kinds of payments and transfers "Taxes, fines, traffic police" and select it.

You will be offered a list of organizations and services, arranged in alphabetical order. Scroll through it and find the service “Search and payment of taxes to the Federal Tax Service”. For your convenience, there is a search bar at the top of the screen.

Step 2. Selecting a tax payment search method

Service Search and payment of taxes to the Federal Tax Service Sberbank Online offers the following options:

  • Payment of taxes by document index
  • Search for overdue taxes by TIN
  • Payment using arbitrary details

Payment of taxes by document index

This is a simple and convenient way when you have already received notices from the tax service and know the tax notice index.

Select an item “Payment of taxes by document index” and in the form that opens, enter the document index. It is usually listed at the very top of the notification and should be no more than 20 characters.

Instead of manually entering the 20 digits of the postal code, you can take advantage of the option to scan the barcode or QR code, which are usually located at the bottom and left side of the notification, respectively. To do this, click on the Scan barcode inscription and follow the instructions.

Here you can choose from which card funds will be debited to pay taxes. If the card that Sberbank offered by default is not suitable, then click on it with a light short touch and you will be offered several of your cards to choose from.

Search for overdue taxes by TIN

If you missed the deadline for paying taxes on time or want to make sure that all debts are paid (for example, before traveling abroad), then this can easily be done in Sberbank Online.

In the form provided, enter your personal INN, select a card for payment and click Continue. On the next screen you will see a list of charges found and you can continue the payment process.

Payment of taxes using arbitrary details

If you select this option, you will need to manually provide the following details:

  • BIC of the recipient's bank
  • Recipient's account number
  • Recipient's TIN

You can also select a card for debiting funds here.

  • OKTMO
  • Payer's TIN
  • Taxable period
  • Basis of payment
  • Payer status, etc.

This is not the easiest and fastest way, we still recommend using the convenience of automatically filling in all the data required for tax payment using a barcode, document index or QR code, described in detail in this step-by-step instructions.

Step 3. Confirmation of transfer

After all the data has been filled in, click Continue and the application will generate information for paying the tax. Carefully check all amounts and details - they must match what is indicated in the official notice from the Federal Tax Service.

The pictures below show an approximate view of the confirmation screens; all data is hidden for privacy reasons. Here, as an example, land tax was paid. When paying transport tax, personal property tax or another type of tax fee through Sberbank Online, the relevant information will be indicated in the Payment purpose field

If everything is correct, click Continue. Since a completed payment is quite difficult to cancel and return the funds back, the system will ask you several times to confirm the correctness of the details, the amount of tax and commission, and your desire to make this payment.

After final confirmation, you will be able to save the receipt and view payment details.

Payment of tax by QR code or barcode

This method is convenient when you already have an official letter from the tax office (tax notice), which contains a QR code and barcode.

? To check taxes and penalties on already issued Tax documents Search taxes »

By clicking the “Search taxes” button, you consent to the processing of personal data, in accordance with the Federal Law of July 27, 2006 N152-F3 “On Personal Data”

* The search is carried out in the GIS GMP (taxes issued throughout Russia).

Tax verification is carried out using the database of the “State Information System on State and Municipal Payments” (abbreviated as GIS GMP). This database contains data on all tax assessments in Russia.

How to check taxes using TIN or UIN?

In order to check tax accruals and debts, you will need the number of one of the following documents:

  1. TIN - Taxpayer Identification Number
  2. SNILS - Insurance number of an individual personal account in the Pension Fund of Russia (green plastic card)
  3. UIN or document index - the number of the Federal Tax Service notification about accrued taxes

Tax verification is carried out using the document number entered in the appropriate fields of the search form. You can check your taxes by entering both documents at the same time. SNILS number is entered no hyphens or spaces, only numbers.

Using the TIN or SNILS, you can only find out tax arrears, i.e., assessments that were not paid within the period established by law. Current tax accruals can only be found by UIN.

After entering data into the fields of the search form, click the “SEARCH TAXES” button. Tax verification may take a long time, please wait for the result.

If taxes are found as a result of the audit, detailed information will be provided: date, UIN, type of tax, amount payable, etc. Otherwise, a message will appear stating that nothing was found.

Background information on taxes for individuals

Below you will find answers to basic personal tax questions. If you have not found the answer to your question, send it through the feedback form.

What taxes must individuals pay?

Individuals pay the following types of taxes: property tax for individuals, transport and land.

Is it possible to check taxes by last name?

It is not possible to check taxes based on the last name of an individual. It is obvious that in Russia there are a huge number of people with completely identical surnames, first names and patronymics. In such a situation, checking taxes by last name would produce a meaningless result.

Is it possible to find out taxes by last name on the website nalog.ru?

As noted above, on any website, including www.nalog.ru (instructions for working with the website), it is impossible to find out tax accruals and debts by last name.

How to check taxes using passport data?

It is impossible to find out taxes directly from your passport data. However, there is a workaround - using passport data, on the website nalog.ru, you can find out the TIN and then check the taxes using the TIN.

How to find out your TIN?

You can find out the TIN of an individual using passport data on the website of the Federal Tax Service tax.ru - https://service.nalog.ru/inn.do

Is it possible to find out land tax by cadastral number?

Unfortunately, it is impossible to find out the calculation of land tax by cadastral number. This tax can only be found out by the TIN of the owner of the land plot or UIN.

Is it possible to check taxes on the Federal Tax Service website (nalog.ru) without registration?

Checking taxes on the website nalog.ru without registration is impossible. Information about tax charges on the Federal Tax Service website is available only through the taxpayer’s personal account. To obtain a login and password, you can contact any office of the Federal Tax Service, regardless of your place of residence and registration. You must have your passport and original/copy of your registration certificate with you.

When is it necessary to pay taxes for individuals?

In accordance with the amendments made by Federal Law No. 320-FZ of November 23, 2015 to Part Two of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation, taxes must be paid no later than December 1 of the year following the expired tax period. For example, property tax for individuals, transport and land tax for 2017 must be paid no later than December 1, 2018, taking into account the fact that December 1 in 2018 falls on a day off - the deadline for paying taxes without fine - December 3, 2018.

What happens if you don't pay taxes?

In the event that a taxpayer does not pay taxes, the Federal Tax Service generates a demand for payment of taxes, penalties, and fines. If the taxpayer fails to comply with the payment requirement within the time period established in this requirement, the tax authority begins the procedure for collecting debt on mandatory payments to the budget system of the Russian Federation.
Debt collection from individuals who are not individual entrepreneurs is carried out under two conditions:
- the debtor has an unfulfilled obligation in an amount exceeding 3,000 rubles;
- expiration of the three-year deadline for fulfilling the payment requirement, if the total amount of taxes, fees, penalties, and fines unpaid by the taxpayer does not exceed 3,000 rubles
In these cases, an application for recovery from the property of a taxpayer - an individual - is submitted by the tax authority to the court when one of the above conditions occurs.

How to find out the tax accrual UIN?

Every year, the Federal Tax Service sends out a tax notice by mail, along with a receipt for payment. UIN is designated as a document index, consists of 20 digits and is located at the top of the receipt.
If you have not received a tax notice, you can view it in your taxpayer’s personal account or receive it by contacting the Federal Tax Service in person.

All persons who have an obligation to pay taxes must fulfill it. Now there are many ways to pay tax debts. Some can do this online, using mobile applications, while others prefer to do it the old fashioned way, receiving a letter with a receipt by mail or from the local tax office. Next, we’ll look at all the possible ways to pay tax debts and look at the main nuances.

Where to pay tax debts

The Federal Tax Service is very interested in ensuring that taxes are paid on time, so information about tax debt is publicly available. Before paying the tax, the payer must know the amount to pay. If previously tax authorities constantly sent out notifications with receipts, now not all taxpayers receive them.

When a citizen has a tax debt of less than one hundred rubles, a receipt will not be sent to him. But this does not mean that now he can not be paid.

As you know, failure to pay taxes on time may result in penalties. Therefore, a person must take care of himself to find out the accrued amount, receive a receipt and pay the debt.

Information about the debt or a receipt for payment can be obtained in one of the following ways:

  • contact any tax authority;
  • log into your personal account on the Federal Tax Service website;
  • resort to the help of the Internet service “Payment of taxes for individuals”;
  • through the Sberbank Online service;
  • through the State Services portal;
  • on third-party resources using the GIS GMP system.

As for payment methods, when the receipt is already in the hands of the taxpayer, the choice is even wider. Everyone can do this using cash or non-cash payment. The most common methods of paying taxes are:

  • Sberbank terminals;
  • Sberbank Online mobile application;
  • personal account on the official website of the tax service;
  • service “Payment for government services”;
  • electronic wallets and other payment systems.

Thus, finding a suitable payment method will not be difficult for the taxpayer at all.

The video below will tell you how to find out and pay your tax debt:

How to make a payment without the Internet

Some people do not have access to the World Wide Web due to the fact that they do not know how to use computers and other gadgets. What should such citizens do?

By receipt

Lack of access to the Internet does not mean that these people will not be able to pay taxes on time, since the Federal Tax Service Data Processing Centers continue to send out tax notices. Only those citizens whose accrual does not exceed one hundred rubles will not receive it. However, such cases account for a very small percentage of the total number of taxpayers.

Having a receipt in hand, it will not be difficult to pay for it at any bank, post office or through self-service terminals. Employees of these institutions will certainly provide assistance to the payer if he is unable to do this on his own.

Without her

It is not uncommon for taxpayers to complain that they did not receive their tax notice on time and therefore did not pay the amount. In such cases, it is important to know that the absence of a receipt does not relieve citizens from tax obligations; they themselves must ensure that they are fulfilled within the prescribed period.

The notification may not reach the addressee for the following reasons:

  • the letter was lost by Russian Post;
  • the amount is less than 100 rubles;
  • the tax was not calculated due to the absence of a taxable object in the Federal Tax Service database.

If a citizen is faced with a similar situation, and he does not have the opportunity to visit the Federal Tax Service website on the Internet, he will have to visit the local tax office. There they will help him find out the reason for the absence of a receipt, print out a new one if the old payment is lost, or independently make a request to Rosreestr or to identify the property or.

By TIN

Despite the fact that many Internet resources offer visitors to pay taxes online using a TIN, the most reliable way is to contact the official source. The Federal Tax Service offers to use the free service “Payment of taxes for individuals.”

Here you have the option to do it yourself:

  • display the receipt and print it;
  • find out debts on taxes, fines, penalties;
  • make payments by non-cash method.

The request form asks the payer to enter his last name, first name and TIN one by one. Next, you will need to select the type of tax, registration address according to your passport, type of payment (penalty or principal) and the amount that you will need to know in advance. The system offers to make a payment in cash, then a receipt will simply be printed, and non-cash via electronic transfer from a bank card.

Through Sberbank

Many people use Internet banking from Sberbank, value it for the reliability of payments and a fast mobile application that allows you to pay any fines, state duties, utilities, and taxes. To register your personal account and use the Sberbank Online application, you need to either contact the nearest bank office or obtain a login and password to access the site through an ATM.

Through State Services

The State Services Portal is a universal tool through which a citizen can access information provided by the information systems of all government agencies, services, ministries and departments. Therefore, here you can also find out the latest information about tax debt, print a receipt and pay the tax.

The only difficulty may be registration on the State Services website. In order for the user’s account to have a confirmed status, the system gradually checks all the data that the user enters: SNILS and INN numbers, email address, phone number. Final confirmation of your account can be obtained by ordering a letter with an activation code to your email address.

With full access to the site, it becomes possible to find out the tax amount and pay it in several steps:

  1. In the public services section, you need to find the “Tax debt check” tab.
  2. After reading the description, you can click “Get the service”.
  3. To pay the debt you will need to use the “Payment for government services” service.
  4. Step by step enter your Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), type and type of payment, amount and make payment in a convenient way.

The system always provides the payer with information that payment processing may take 14 days before the debt amount disappears in the personal account on the Federal Tax Service website.

No commission

The listed payment methods: Sberbank Online, the State Services portal, the Federal Tax Service, the taxpayer’s personal account, Sberbank terminals, all of this refers to methods of paying taxes without commission. Some other payment systems, such as QIWI, WebMoney, YandexMoney, charge a commission. Therefore, the most reliable way to pay taxes, which will allow you to avoid commission fees, can be considered using your personal account on the Federal Tax Service website.

Other options

In addition to official and trusted sources on the Internet, there are many sites where you can pay taxes. It’s good if they use the GIS GMP system for this, because this system contains a constantly updated database of state and municipal payments. But many sites offer unconfirmed information, and besides, they charge a large commission for making a payment. Experts do not recommend using such resources to pay taxes.

Is it possible to pay in installments?

The deadline for payment of property taxes is set no later than December 1 of the year following the reporting period. Until this date arrives, the taxpayer has the opportunity to make payments in installments to meet the deadline. If, as of December 1, a person has some amount unpaid, then penalties cannot be avoided.

If after payment the debt remains

Payers often complain that they have already paid taxes, but the debt remains in their personal account on the Federal Tax Service website. There is no need to worry or panic about this, because each payment is processed within 2 weeks, and debt is written off within 2 to 4 weeks. Therefore, it is possible to objectively evaluate the results of making a payment only after a month.
