Their lower part (modified stamen filaments) matches the main color of the flower or is slightly lighter, and the upper part (former anthers) is yellow or with a golden edging along the edge.
In some flowers, the staminodes bend inward, forming a very beautiful “pompom”. Varieties with this type of flower were first obtained in Japan, hence the name of this group.
