Ingredients

  • Buckwheat groats - 1 tbsp.;
  • Milk - 3 tbsp.;
  • Butter - 50 gr.;
  • Sugar - 3 tbsp. l .;
  • Salt to taste.

How to cook buckwheat in milk in a slow cooker

Before pouring buckwheat into the multicooker bowl, sort it out, removing all the debris. Then rinse the buckwheat in water until it runs clean.

Pour the cereals into the multicooker bowl, add sugar and salt. Add the diced butter immediately. If you are not sure about the proportions of sugar, are afraid to make the dish too sweet, or vice versa, then at this stage you can exclude the addition of sugar. You can sweeten buckwheat even after serving it.

Pour milk into the bowl. It can be diluted with water in a 1: 2 ratio. The taste of buckwheat porridge in milk in a slow cooker will not get any worse from this.

Close the lid tightly and select the "Milk porridge" or "Cereals" mode. This mode may have different names depending on the model. If you don’t have anything similar, then put the multicooker on the “Stew” mode for 20 minutes and after the specified time has elapsed, check the readiness of the buckwheat. If it's not ready, add another 10 minutes.

The finished porridge turns out to be of medium consistency: it is neither crumbly nor very liquid. Adjust the amount of liquid to your taste, you can add a little more hot milk after serving.

Serve buckwheat cooked in a slow cooker with hot milk with a slice of butter, jam, dried fruits or fresh apples. Bon Appetit!

Cooking tips:

  • If you are not a fan of sweet dishes, then buckwheat with milk can be cooked with carrots, cauliflower or pumpkin. Add the vegetables, clean and chopped, to the multicooker bowl and cook in the same way as for sweet porridge.
  • To make the taste of buckwheat richer, it can be calcined in advance in a dry frying pan or in the oven for 5-10 minutes.
  • It is impossible to cook buckwheat on the delayed mode, in which you put all the ingredients in the bowl overnight, and they will begin to prepare only for your awakening. Buckwheat will absorb all the liquid, therefore, when the multicooker starts working in the morning, you risk getting burnt buckwheat grains, and not a fragrant and tasty porridge.

Milk buckwheat porridge in a slow cooker turns out to be very tasty, boiled and not dry, but juicy, due to the fact that it languishes in a large amount of liquid. For 100 g of cereal, approximately 200 ml of hot water is taken, that is, the correspondence of cereal and water is 1: 2. But at the end of cooking, we will add milk so that the porridge is juicy, but not the full rate, and half - 100 ml. Therefore, the approximate ratio of cooking buckwheat porridge with milk is 1: 2 and 50 ml of milk per 1 serving.

Remember that milk interferes with the rapid cooking of porridge, so it must first be boiled in water, and after the buckwheat kernels have boiled, you can add milk, but always warm or hot, so as not to stop the cooking process. If you decide to cook milk buckwheat porridge only in milk, then add another 5-10 minutes to the time of its creation.

So, prepare the necessary foods and start cooking!

Rinse the buckwheat several times in water, rinsing off the debris and removing black grains that will not boil.

After that, pour it into the multicooker bowl.

Pour in boiling water, add salt and activate the "Porridge" mode on the multicooker display for 20 minutes. Since you are pouring boiling water, the technique does not need to additionally heat the contents of the bowl and it will take less time to cook the porridge. Close the lid and wait 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes, the porridge is almost ready.

At this point, pour warm or hot milk into the bowl and close the appliance with a lid. In 5 minutes, the swollen groats will absorb half of the milk and become loose, juicy.

As soon as the multicooker beep sounds, the milk buckwheat porridge is completely ready.

Place it on plates and season with butter. If desired, you can add sugar, honey, seasonings or spices to the porridge - be guided by your taste.

Serve the cooked side dish to the table.

Enjoy it!
