Facade finishing with facing bricks

Finishing the facade of a house with bricks is not only an opportunity to transform a home and give it the most "elegant" aesthetic appearance, but also a way to protect the walls from the effects of damaging environmental factors, to create good noise and heat insulation. Particularly relevant is the facing of the facade with bricks for wooden houses and houses made of timber, which, due to the peculiarities of the building material, are destroyed faster under the influence of unfavorable weather conditions.

In the event that it is planned to finish the house with bricks even at the stage of its construction, the project must include increased loads on the foundation and supporting structures (walls, floors) in advance. It is not recommended to clad a wooden house without taking into account additional loads, since there is a high risk of deformation and destruction of the structure. However, it is possible to finish the facades with facing bricks for wooden houses already built for a long time. You just need preliminary preparation: inspection of all supporting structures, if necessary - their strengthening or replacement. An expansion of the foundation will also be required, since the cladding, as well as the walls, must rest on it. If you decorate the facade of a house with bricks without supporting it on the foundation, it will soon sag under its own weight. In addition, antiseptic processing of wooden walls and insulation with mineral wool are preliminarily performed. Only after that you can start decorating the house with bricks. For wooden walls, you will need a link between the wood and the finish - metal galvanized pins, which are driven into the wood and fixed with the other end into the brickwork.

Insulation and decoration of the facade of the house with bricks

As for stone houses, mineral wool should also be laid here - as a heater and a sound-insulating layer. The walls are obtained as if three-layer: an inner stone layer of the main building material (aerated concrete, cinder block, gas silicate block, etc.), a layer of mineral wool and an outer facing layer of brick. The walls of the house must be even, otherwise the facing layer will "sit" crookedly and soon ugly cracks will appear on it.

After completing all the necessary preparatory work - strengthening the foundation, strengthening the walls and supporting beams, laying the heat-insulating layer - the facade of the house is being finished with facing bricks. Since, first of all, such a finish should be aesthetic and even, it is desirable for specialists to perform it. This is a rather laborious process that requires experience, diligence and concentration.

First, you should make sure that the planned finishing option will look exactly as planned - for this, several bricks are laid on the mortar and the result is assessed. And, of course, it is important to initially calculate the number of bricks that will be required for work. If there is not enough material, it will have to be purchased additionally, and it is very likely that there will be a mismatch in color or texture, which will negatively affect aesthetics.

When choosing a material for facing a facade with a brick, you need to roughly imagine the difference between the types of facing bricks. Typically, the following types of bricks are used for decoration: ceramic (from fired clay), clinker (a kind of ceramic that has a special manufacturing technology and a different structure), limestone (pressed from shellfish). In addition, bricks can be solid (more durable and with better thermal insulation properties) and hollow (lightweight, not overloading the foundation, but less durable). What material to choose depends on the tastes of the customer, on the type of walls in his house and on the planned result of finishing the facades with facing bricks.
