Flag 10 obrspn. From Molkino to Palmyra: how Russian mercenaries are trained & nbsp

On the pages of this blog, the reasons for awarding the title of Hero of Russia to Sergei Shevelev (,) have already been discussed. Now it is the turn to understand the reasons for awarding the Order of Zhukov to the 10th Special Forces Brigade.

D. Medvedev's awarding of the 10th separate brigade of special forces of the GRU of the General Staff of the Ministry of Defense with the Order of Zhukov "for participation in the operation to force Georgia to peace in 2008" is, frankly, an unusual event.

Judge for yourself.

Scout sniper Alexey Batuev ended up in South Ossetia at the beginning of May 2008.:
About the same thing about the evacuation from the South Ossetian capital is also told by scout sniper Alexei Batuev from the Krasnodar special forces unit , seconded to the peacekeeping contingent three months ago:

The official brief historical information of the unit, seen by the participants of the press tours to the 10th brigade, reports that the special forces were already there in April 2008.:
Subdivisions of the compound performed special tasks on the territory:

This time series, gradually receding into history, can be continued further. Therefore, now you can go to its source, very frankly revealing the answer to the key question, when it all began:
«... the situation at the beginning of the 21st century dictated the need to strengthen the Russian-Georgian border in the section from Krasnodar Territory to Dagestan. It was decided that it was necessary to form a separate special-purpose brigade here, whose fighters could effectively work in the problem area. On October 10, 2002, the President of the Russian Federation signed an order to recreate the 10th Specialized Brigade of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the GRU. The corresponding directive of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is dated November 30 - the place of deployment of the 10th Brigade was chosen in the village of Molkino in the North Caucasus Military District.
Military unit 51532 began to form in Molkino in January 2003, but by May 1, a new part of the GRU special forces was already functioning. The main tasks of the 10th OBRSPN were announced from the very beginning: the protection of the southern borders ... control of the situation in the always restless North Caucasus. Detachments of the 10th Special Forces brigade were in ... Abkhazia, South Ossetia - hotbeds of tension here are a permanent phenomenon, the soldiers of the 10th Special Forces brigade from Molkino from the very beginning and to this day are in constant combat readiness ...
We all still have fresh memories of the conflict in South Ossetia in 2008 - the main blow here was taken by the 10th separate special forces brigade. As mentioned above, 10 OBRSPN in Molkino was formed precisely for the purpose of protecting the southern borders of Russia. As part of the tasks assigned to a separate special-purpose brigade, a peacekeeping contingent from the 107th Special Forces Brigade of the 10th Special Forces Brigade was on the territory of South Ossetia before the start of hostilities - it was this GRU Special Forces that was the first to engage in battles with the Georgian Armed Forces. ».
http://voenpro.ru/infolenta/flag-10-brigady

Military unit 51532 was formed on the basis of the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of October 10, 2002 No. 1334 p. Directives of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation D - 063 of November 30, 2002 The formation of the formation began in January 2003 ... Military unit 51532 was formed on May 1, 2003 with the task of covering the state border in the south of the Russian Federation ...

This is how - long before the night of August 7-8, 2008, when Georgian troops began an operation to rescue the inhabitants of the Liakhvi Gorge from the destruction promised to them by the Kokoit thugs.according to the Abkhazian scenario, long before the "growth of Georgia's defense budget by 33 times", long before the appearance of the modern Georgian army, long before the arrest of Russian spies in Georgia in the fall of 2006, long before the overthrow of Aslan Abashidze in Batumi and the subsequent integration of Adjara into Georgia in May 2004 ., long before the first visit to Moscow in February 2004 of Mikhail Saakashvili, full of then illusory hopes for successful cooperation with Putin, long before Saakashvili himself won the presidential elections in January 2004, long before the November 2003 Rose Revolution - long before all this (including more than a year before the Rose Revolution), V. Putin signed a simple order to createa separate special-purpose brigade, whose fighters could effectively work on the problem area - the Russian-Georgian border, which, as it turned out, turned out to be the inner territory of Georgia. Apparently, it is in this place that it should be emphasized that, according to the decisions of the JCC in the zone of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict, only motorized riflemen were allowed as peacekeepers, the deployment of special military units - special forces and paratroopers- was strictly forbidden.

How many special forces and other Russian military personnel were deployed in Georgia before the start of full-scale hostilities?
The deployment of special forces was not the only violation by the Russian side of the Dagomys agreements and decisions of the JCC. According to the JCC decision of June 4, 1992, the size of peacekeeping battalions on each of the three sides was limited to 500 troops (plus a possible additional increase in contingents by another 300 people in case of mutual consent of all sides). Any increase in forces in the conflict zone required, of course, the consent of all three parties to the Dagomys Agreement (Russia, Georgia, North Ossetia). Georgia has never given its permission to increase the size of the peacekeeping contingents.

However, only the so-called. The "peacekeeping battalion" under the command of K.Timerman from the 135th motorized rifle regiment consisted of at least 526 people:

The exact size of Detachment 107 of the 10th Special Forces Brigade is unknown. The possible size of such a detachment can be judged by the size of the Soviet army special forces units operating during the war in Afghanistan - from 520 to 583 people:
http://desantura.ru/forum/forum6/topic2990/
http://wiki.bratishka.ru/index.php/%D0%93%D0%A0%D0%A3

In addition to the 107th detachment, the85th and 104th Special Forces 10th Special Forces Brigade.

In addition, units of the 2nd and 22nd special forces brigades were also introduced into the territory of Georgia:
In August 2008, reconnaissance groups of the 2nd, 10th and 22nd special forces brigades took part in the 2008 "five-day war" in South Ossetia:
http://milkavkaz.net/?q=node/71

In addition, the Yamadaevskaya company "Vostok" (about 200 people) was also deployed in the conflict zone.

In addition, during the Kavkaz-2008 maneuvers, they crossed the internationally recognized (including Russia) state Russian-Georgian border, entered the territory of Georgia and remained there at bases in Java, Urgadant, Elbakiate, waiting for a signal to attack. groups of the 135th and 693rd motorized rifle regiments (under the command of Colonels G. Gostev and A. Kazachenko) - each numbering more than 700 people:

All this, naturally, took place in violation of the UN Charter, the Dagomys agreements, and decisions of the JCC.
And all this, according to international law, naturally, were clearly identifiable signs of Russian aggression against Georgia.
And all this information, of course, was known to Mrs. H. Tagliavini and her German deputies on the European Commission during the preparation of her notorious report.
And all this information of Mrs. Tagliavini and her German deputies, of course, was completely ignored.

Who were the commandos subordinate to?
Despite the fact that the immediate location of the 107th special forces detachment was Verkhniy Gorodok, the commandos did not obey the commander of the peacekeeping battalion, Lieutenant Colonel K.Timerman.

Here is how Timerman describes the units subordinate to him, thrown by him in a suicide attack on Georgian tanks in Zemo Nikozi:
[v] peacekeepers base camp ... there were only about 220 troops. Combat units - four platoons: two motorized rifle, one reconnaissance and one grenade launcher. The rest - support (of the 526 regular servicemen of the battalion, about 250 were at posts and outposts). Four platoons, 100 people, held the defense ...
http://old.redstar.ru/2008/08/19_08/3_01.html

As you can see, there are no special forces among the units subordinate to Timerman. How the special forces used their weapons, against whom is a separate conversation (see below). Moreover, the servicemen of Detachment 107, stationed at the same base as the "ordinary peacekeepers", not only did not obey Timerman, but did not seem to even know him.

This is how he told about his meeting with Timerman in the middle of the day on August 8 deputy group commander107th Special Forces DetachmentEnsign Andrey Danilyuk:
Then a colonel approached me, I do not know his last name, and ordered to collect all the wounded in one place. He explained that observers from the OSCE mission had arrived. They agreed with the Georgians that they would provide us with a corridor to get out of the city. We loaded into the armored Ural first the seriously wounded, then the civilians, then the lightly wounded and survivors sat down. And on command they left the town .
http://www.stihi.ru/2009/03/10/6019

The “colonel” who approached (!) The special forces ensign (!) Was, obviously, Lieutenant Colonel K.Timerman, whom A.Danilyuk did not seem to know by sight until that moment. In addition, in subsequent reprints of this text by journalist A. Kovylkov, the remark about Danilyuk's unfamiliarity with Timerman was already prudently removed.

Spetsnaz did not obey only Timerman?
There is no evidence that the so-called. "Peacekeeping spetsnaz" or "spetsnaz peacekeepers" ("attached to the peacekeeping battalion") were also subordinate to the Commander of the peacekeeping forces, Major General M. Kulakhmetov. Moreover, they did not even obey the commander of the main invasion army - the commander of the 58th Army, Lieutenant General A. Khrulev, who was also not aware of what the special forces were doing on the zone of action of his army:

V.Sh. It is known that around this time the 10th GRU special forces brigade was actively operating here. Did you have contact with them ?
OH. Yes, the interaction was organized, but they acted according to their tasks set by the senior military commander.
V.Sh. There is a report that they gave target designation to your army's artillery .
OH. Perhaps they gave them, going to the combat control group at the Central Bank of Ukraine. The fact is that spetsnaz groups act on the orders of the senior military commander. They have their own specific tasks. If they have a need, they interact with us through the command center ...
http://www.regnum.ru/news/1525951.html

Thus, Khrulev confirmed what, in principle, and so all the military know - the special forces groups obeyed and are subordinate to the "senior military commander" - directly to the chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff, bypassing, therefore, the regimental, divisional, army, and district levels management. In other words, the General Staff set the tasks for the special forces units directly, and he received reports from them.

Perhaps Timerman, Kulakhmetov, Khrulev were allowed not to know what the special forces were doing on the territory of Georgia. But we are not generals, we, Russian citizens, who want to understand why they kill and then reward Russian soldiers and officers, we need to know this.

The Ministry of Defense spent more than 50 million rubles. to modernize the Molkino training ground, where, presumably, fighters of private military companies involved in military operations in Syria and Ukraine are training. In total, over the past three years, the military department has allocated more than 1 billion rubles for the arrangement of military units located in the immediate vicinity of the training site.

Polygon Molkino hit the news after the start of the operation of the Russian Aerospace Forces in Syria. As previously reported, in addition to the military personnel of the Russian army, on the side of the government forces of Bashar al-Assad, the IS terrorist group (an organization banned in Russia) is fighting and losing the fighters of the de jure non-existent private military company (PMC) Wagner.

It is in Molkino that Wagner's fighters undergo special training.

As Gazeta.Ru already wrote, under the pseudonym Wagner, 46-year-old lieutenant colonel Dmitry Utkin, who until 2013 commanded the 700th separate special forces detachment of the 2nd separate special forces brigade of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, may be hiding. After retirement, he worked for the Russian PMC Moran Security Group, which is engaged in the protection of merchant ships in the waters of Somalia and Nigeria. In 2014, presumably, Utkin created his own division, which received the code name "PMC Wagner". The fighters of this unofficial unit, according to sources, fought in Donetsk, and recently took part in hostilities in Syria, in particular near Palmyra.

According to the publication "Fontanka", the training base for fighters for "PMC Wagner" is located in the Krasnodar Territory near the Molkino farm. At first, Wagner's fighters were trained before being sent across the border in the Rostov region, then their base was moved to Molkino near Krasnodar, according to Gazeta.Ru's interlocutors in the military sphere.

The Molkino farm is located 40 km from Krasnodar, in the Goryacheklyuchevsky district. According to open sources, three military units are deployed in Molkino: the 1st Guards Missile Brigade (military unit 31853), the 10th separate special purpose brigade of the GRU of the Ministry of Defense (military unit 51532), and the 243rd combined-arms training ground (military unit h 55485).

Meanwhile, as Gazeta.Ru found out, in early 2015, before the start of the Syrian campaign and the appearance of PMC Wagner fighters in Molkino, the training ground was seriously modernized, and new equipment worth more than 50 million rubles was supplied to the training site.

Information on the purchase of landfill equipment for Molkino was posted on the website of the "unified electronic trading platform" in April 2015. Then the military department allocated 293.9 million rubles. for the supply of technical means for five training grounds, including Molkino (an average of 56 million rubles were allocated for each training ground - Gazeta.Ru). The tender itself was declared invalid, and the supply contract was concluded with the JSC "Garrison", owned by the Ministry of Defense. The company had to re-equip the training site by the fall of 2015, and it becomes clear from the tender documentation what the fighters were taught in Molkino.

So, according to the tender documentation, 53 unified UMU-S-127 target installations were to be delivered to Molkino, designed to display light and medium targets when training in shooting at emerging targets.

The documentation also refers to the supply of 40 sets of the UMU-T1-127 target installation, designed to lift heavy, medium and light (by weight) targets at shooting ranges, directors and firing camps when training troops in firing at emerging targets: tanks, armored personnel carriers, cars, anti-tank guns.

“With the help of this equipment, soldiers are taught how to shoot at night with the help of night vision devices,” says an interlocutor in the military department.

In addition, such targets can be fired not only from small arms, but also from heavier weapons. "

In addition to target equipment, five company tactical sets of RTK-1 were delivered to the training ground, with the help of which it is possible to control targets during tactical exercises with live fire, using light imitation of shooting and detonating pyrotechnics, in day and night conditions. And also two sets of PSO-R - radio-controlled portable shooting equipment designed for the operational creation and control of the target situation along the front up to 500 m and in depth up to 1500 m at any time of the year, day and weather conditions.

“With the help of this equipment, fighters are taught not only to shoot, but to interact with each other during an attack or defense,” the expert says.

Meanwhile, according to the website "Goszakupki", the army command was concerned not only with the technical equipment of the training ground, but also with raising the morale of the students.

So, in the fall of 2014, the Federal State Institution “United Strategic Command of the Southern Military District” held an auction for the provision of services for art and design work and the creation of expositions on the territory of the training centers Ashuluk, Molkino and Prudboy. Winning firm for 2 million rubles. was supposed to make and install 12 posters at the test sites with the inscriptions: "Defense of the Fatherland is a sacred duty", "It is hard in learning - easy on a march", "Every shot is on target", "Armor power", "There is such a profession - to defend the homeland ". As follows from the terms of reference, under the captions there should have been images "illustrating the vital activity, combat training of a unit, a military unit, fragments of exercises and everyday life."

Also, in addition to funds for equipping the test site, the Ministry of Defense previously allocated money for the construction of facilities in military units stationed in Molkino. So, in 2013, the department allocated 1.2 billion rubles. to "perform a full range of works on the object: Development of the park zone and technical territory of military unit 31853, Goryacheklyuchevsky garrison of the Southern Military District."

The contract involved the construction of hangars for military equipment, warehouses for weapons and access roads to facilities.

Meanwhile, training fighters also costs money. Noran Security Group's weapons specialist Boris Chikin argues that training costs are kept to a minimum because PMCs recruit people who know how to handle weapons.

“Trained people are taken to such structures,” Chikin explains. - A priori, they know how to perform certain tasks. If you were a machine gunner or a sniper in the army, then here too you will be a machine gunner or a sniper. The skills are checked, adjusted, if necessary, and then the combat coordination of a new unit is carried out for a specific task.

According to the specialist, the head of the department will never take an incomprehensible person. “Everything comes from a specific task. For example, if they are recruiting a group to escort a convoy, we look at what weapons the customer can provide us with. Well, we are recruiting people for this business, - Chikin explains. - Preference is always given to paratroopers, former special forces and marines. Nobody wants to spend extra money. "

Gazeta.Ru sent an official request to the Ministry of Defense with a request to comment on the information that fighters of a private military company can be trained at the Molkino training ground to participate in a special operation in Syria. And also explain on what basis and at whose expense they can receive training. However, the military department could not give a prompt comment.

The units of the GRU army special forces largely inherited the experience of the partisan detachments of the Great Patriotic War - the tasks of the OBRSPN included not only reconnaissance, but also the conduct of hostilities in especially difficult conditions. Also, one of the main tasks of individual special purpose brigades was to counter the nuclear threat - the fight against NATO mobile landings. Service in separate brigades of the GRU special forces implied and implies a lifelong attitude towards the armed forces - in accordance with the system of functioning of the special forces, in the event of war, retired special forces were supposed to form the backbone of partisan detachments behind enemy lines. Such detachments would be a springboard for the landing of the GRU OBRSPN groups, destroying all communications, important strategic objects and rocket launchers. A similar system still works today - under the flag of the 10th Special Forces brigade in Molkino, field training is held annually for the partisans liable for military service. For two weeks, potential leaders of partisan detachments live and undergo retraining on the territory of military unit 51532. Of course, the training program for reserve servicemen is, to put it mildly, "lightweight" in comparison with actual soldiers of the army special forces, and with a simpler regime - thanks to the modern development of social networks, participants fees introduce those who wish to the living conditions in 10 OBRSPN. For example, here is a standard lunch at the 10th brigade of the GRU special forces:

And the photo below shows a festive version, in one of the many press tours to the 10th brigade of special forces in the officer's mess, the following table was laid:

Speaking of food, the Voenpro online military agency recalls that among the products there is a place for a line of unique mugs of the corresponding theme. Ceramic ones are quite capacious - their volume is 300 ml. Each has symbols of the GRU General Staff's special forces, as well as traditional plots from the life of special forces. In order to buy, for example, with the image of OBRSPN fighters on a mission, just follow the link and place an order. Do not forget that the day of the GRU special forces is celebrated in Russia on October 24, there is very little time left.

So, as part of the creation of an updated system of Soviet intelligence special forces, by October 4, 1962, 10 OBRSPN was formed, which became one of the first units of the GRU special forces. October 4 is the day of the unit, which is celebrated today. The 10th spetsnaz brigade belonged to the Odessa military district; Colonel M.Ya. Kochetkov, he was also responsible for the formation of 10 OBRSPN. The battle banner was presented to the 10th separate brigade of the GRU special forces and was presented on April 24, 1964. In the same 1964, the first major exercises of the Special Forces troops were held in the USSR, in which the fighters of the 10th brigade also participated. 10 OBRSPN in the shortest possible time became the best part of the Odessa Military District, was repeatedly awarded various awards and rolling pennants from the USSR Ministry of Defense, in 1967 the special forces brigade was named "50th Anniversary of the October Revolution."

On the eve of the celebration of the GRU Special Forces Day (October 24) and the Day of Military Intelligence, which falls on November 5, the Voenpro online store presents to its customers a new line of products dedicated to the domestic special forces of the GRU - now you have the opportunity to purchase not only the registered flags of the special forces, but also , . In order to buy a personalized keychain with the symbols of the 10th Special Forces Brigade from Molkino, you just need to follow the link and go through the standard ordering procedure. In you can also find souvenirs dedicated to other special-purpose brigades.

The structure of the 10th Special Forces brigade during its creation was "three-battalion" - each of the three reconnaissance battalions consisted of three reconnaissance companies, in turn, consisting of 4 reconnaissance platoons, but the reconnaissance platoon consisted of three squads of 3 GRU special forces soldiers. Note that 325 ooSpN was stationed in Feodosia, belonging to 10 OoSpN. Later, he was transferred to the territory of the main unit and became the 4th battalion of the 10th brigade. The 10th Special Forces brigade also included the Headquarters, the Airborne Forces, a special weapons platoon, a communications battalion, a mining company, RMO, and an autorot. Today, the 10th OOBRSPN consists of three separate battalions: 104th, 551st, 107th ooSpN. In addition, the 100th experimental separate reconnaissance brigade is located in Mozdok - it was created on the basis of 85 ooSpN, which previously belonged to 10 OBRSPN, in 2009. Until 2009, the 10th special forces brigade was formed exclusively on a contract basis - today the number of contract soldiers in the military unit 51532 still significantly exceeds the number of conscripts. You cannot find the usual barracks in Molkino - there is a dormitory with rooms for four people, servicemen of the 10th Specialized Brigade, regardless of the type of service, live in the same conditions. The level of comfort in the Molkinsky special forces brigade is much higher than the average.

The structure of individual special forces brigades in the USSR and Russia could be different - the number of reconnaissance battalions varied, for example. The training of soldiers in the units of the Special Forces of the GRU could also be slightly different, one thing remained unchanged - the soldiers and officers, united by the famous bat, terrified the enemy anywhere in the world. The Voenpro online voentorg invites active members of the Special Forces and Special Forces of the past to buy a variety of gifts and souvenirs with appropriate symbols for themselves or as a gift to friends for Special Forces Day. or - you yourself choose the "caliber" of the gift. On the eve of the autumn coolness and winter cold, they are relevant - for example, this:

The experience of training sabotage units of the GRU special forces with the creation of a new system reached a new level. If earlier it was only about individual companies of special forces of military intelligence, subordinate to the leadership of the units to which they were assigned, now the special forces system has become extremely centralized. The training of highly qualified officers for the GRU OBRSPN in the newly opened educational institutions (faculties), joint exercises and training and a scientific base for sabotage activities became the key to creating, perhaps, the best system of special forces in the world. The 10th special forces brigade became a full-fledged part of the new system of functioning of the GRU units of the General Staff of the USSR Armed Forces - the first 4 years of existence, the 10th Special Forces brigade spent in endless exercises, firing, and training. The everyday life of the fighters of the 10th Special Forces brigade in the new century is not too different from how the guys from the 10th Special Forces brigade lived at the dawn of its existence - of course, weapons are changing, the scientific base is improving, new specific tasks appear, but the essence is the same - training, training, training.

Today's everyday life of fighters of the 10th Special Forces is not just a refining of actions in situations typical for special forces, it is, first of all, comprehensive training. The compulsory training program for servicemen of the 10th spetsnaz brigade includes demining. On the territory of military unit 51532 in Molkino, a training ground is equipped, where the special forces of the 10th Special Forces Special Forces sharpen their mining skills, of course, having previously mastered the theory in the classroom:

New technologies make it possible to simulate shooting from automatic weapons in classrooms. Today, fighters of the 10th separate special forces brigade have the opportunity to use a specialized simulator.

Which, however, does not prevent you from training "aiming" the old fashioned way, in the corridors of the barracks:

It is characteristic that all fighters master the radio business in 10 OBRSPN to one degree or another - the principle of universality of training is observed here as well. Special forces from military unit 51532 are studying the system of signs in accordance with the Morse code, are able to use modern radio stations. The radio training of the fighters of the 10th Special Forces Brigade also includes the ability to recognize by ear messages transmitted by means of Morse code - a task, to put it mildly, not an easy one.

One of the most, perhaps, the most interesting and exciting stages in the training of a special forces intelligence officer of the Airborne Forces is parachute jumping, especially when it comes to jumping from the IL-76. Each fighter of the 10th OBRSPN without fail makes the most difficult jump from a height of more than 600 meters. Jumping from the IL-76 is a really dangerous enterprise, it is by no means landing from a helicopter. Therefore, appropriate training is also provided: the special forces train their actions on simulators to automatism - they can be seen at the training range of the military unit 51532. In addition, first, the fighters of the 10th Special Forces Special Forces jump from the AN aircraft - only very careful preparation can prevent fatal "convergence" of parachutists in the air ... In the video below, the jumps of the fighters of the 10th brigade of special forces - were filmed by the special forces themselves, pay attention to the extreme concentration of each. The personnel of 10 OBRSPN are obliged to make at least four jumps per year.

Even superficially familiarizing yourself with the training system of the individual brigades of the GRU special forces, you stop doubting, even for a second, the validity of the famous motto of the Special Forces troops "Only the stars are above us." This dictum is as familiar to everyone as a symbol of the special forces of military intelligence, like a black bat. Among the products of the Voentorg Voenpro online store there are, for example, T-shirts with the famous motto. In order for the one shown in the figure below, just click on the image - you will be taken to the corresponding page of our military agency.

Since 1967, a series of operations began for the Soviet army special forces in Mozambique, Cambodia, Nicaragua, Ethiopia, the Caribbean and other states of the world. The events in Prague in 1968 were also a brilliant operation of the Soviet army special forces, the work of our OBRSPN was appreciated by the whole world. It is known, for example, that the legendary Otto Skorzeny was amazed and admired by professionals from the Soviet military intelligence. Very often, the essence of these operations consisted in a confrontation with American commandos - including through the efforts of fighters of the 10th Special Forces of the Special Forces of the military intelligence, the GRU of the General Staff was approved as one of the most dangerous military organizations in the world. Details about most of the military operations of the Special Forces of the GRU that period of the existence of the 10th Special Forces Brigade are still quite difficult to find out today.

There are many myths and legends about the training of special forces of military intelligence - of course, a lot of fiction, but the fact remains: in accordance with the charter, soldiers and officers of the GRU OBRSPN are required to be able to conduct sabotage and subversive activities (for example, single-handedly derail trains or mine large industrial facilities), have hand-to-hand combat skills much higher than the average level, perfectly master the art of camouflage, secret movements and silently eliminating enemy soldiers, be able to recruit agents. Of course, this is not a complete list of the skills of a GRU Army Special Forces soldier. Fighters and veterans of the GRU OBRSPN are a separate caste of highly professional military men, "universal soldiers" - the elite of the Russian army. The Voenpro online store has a full-fledged section dedicated to the special forces of military intelligence. Here our customers will find various souvenirs with the symbols of the GRU special forces, themed, clothes and much more. For example, such a colorful and depiction of an OBRSPN fighter will be a wonderful gift for friends or relatives who served in the Special Forces troops, for the Day of Special Forces and the next Day of Military Intelligence.

Covert operations in Africa and Asia were replaced by Afghanistan, where the special forces of military intelligence and the Airborne Forces became undoubtedly the main striking force of the Soviet troops - suffice it to say that only 1% of the total contingent of special forces were responsible for 75% operations in the territory of the DRA. Soldiers of the 10th separate brigade of special forces of the GRU in 1985 (partially) were equipped with 186 ooSpN, introduced at the same time into the territory of the DRA. The 186th separate spetsnaz detachment began to form in February on the basis of the 8th OBRSPN GRU - from the 10th spetsnaz brigade a group of 24 fighters arrived, led by Lieutenant V.P. Kovtun. It is characteristic that detachment 10 of the OBRSPN consisted mainly of violators of military discipline, each of whom was awarded orders and medals more than once during their stay in Afghanistan. By April 7, the 186th special forces detachment with fighters of the 10th Special Forces brigade crossed the border of the DRA, and by April 16 it had reached its permanent place of deployment - N of the item. Shahjoy.

The soldiers of the 10th Special Forces of the GRU, as part of the 186th detachment, ended up in a zone where there were no Soviet troops before, initially the army special forces were engaged in a familiar job - organizing ambushes along the routes of caravans with weapons and drugs. The first Afghan casualties for the 10th special forces brigade are associated with the assault operations planned by the headquarters - there is, in general, nothing to comment on here. In the summer of 1986, MI-8 and MI-24 helicopters appeared at the disposal of 186 ooSpN, which significantly increased the combat capability of the special purpose unit in Shahdzhoi, at the same time the personnel began to be staffed not only by special forces, but also by junior infantry officers. One of the commanders of the 186th intelligence special forces detachment, V. Sergeev, wrote in his memoirs about the lieutenant of the 10th OBRSPN GRU V.P. Kovtun: “I could entrust him with the execution of any task and not be afraid that the plan would fail. He was the implementer of my ideas. Many were offended and said that Sergeyev was sending Kovtun to the most "lucrative" places on purpose. But "grain" in our business must be understood as the most difficult and dangerous. Therefore, I answered the claims simply: “You can go instead of Kovtun. Only are you capable of making two night transitions of 15-20 kilometers to the ambush site, hiding in some irrigation ditch for a day, being under the scorching sun, when even in order to “relieve themselves” you need to crawl? Are you capable of hitting caravans under the very nose of the spirits, near large base areas and successfully repelling attacks from many times superior enemy forces? If yes, then go ahead! ". There were no volunteers after that. " The fighters of the 10th Special Forces brigade, therefore, had to carry out the most difficult tasks - since the training of the army special forces of the GRU made it possible to get out of a variety of troubles with honor.

Lieutenant of the special forces of military intelligence from the 10th Special Forces Special Forces, V. Kovtun, in his memoirs describes more than one operation of his wards, one of such stories is the story of the first Stinger MANPADS with documentation, captured by the soldiers of the special purpose brigade. In one of the ordinary reconnaissance missions, a detachment of soldiers of the Special Forces found on the ground a group of mujahideen moving on motorcycles. The special forces attacked the "spirits", during the battle 16 enemy fighters were destroyed, the lieutenant of the 10th separate special forces brigade personally delivered the "Stinger" and a diplomat with documentation. Unfortunately, not all combat exits of the airborne reconnaissance troops went so smoothly - in the video below, the memory book of the 186 special forces unit of military intelligence in the DRA - there are also soldiers of the 10th Special Forces of the GRU, who heroically died in Afghanistan.

As already mentioned, the soldiers of the 10th brigade of the GRU belong to the reconnaissance of the Airborne Forces - landing here is a mandatory program both in training and in real combat. In general, the interaction of special forces units with helicopter units is the key to the success of most operations of army special forces units. In the arsenal of the military department "Voenpro" there are products not only with the traditional symbols of the special forces of the GRU General Staff, but also, for example, the image on which is a standard plot of the military operation of the army special forces. and Mi-8 helicopters attacking the enemy, you can follow the link to the corresponding page (just click on the image below).

In 1987, the 10th Special Forces brigade was recognized as the best in the Union in terms of the level of sniper training, and in 1990 the team of the 10th Special Forces brigade won the all-Union competitions of the GRU Special Forces. Today's 10th brigade in Molkino is also famous for its snipers. Of course, the selection into sniper groups of 10 OBRSPN is quite serious - here everyone is an experienced hunter or sportsman-shooter. But the ability to shoot a sniper of the Special Forces is not enough - the training of recruits provides for the training of the art of camouflage at the highest level. In addition, a sniper of a special forces of military intelligence needs extreme endurance - sometimes it is necessary to spend a day or more in an almost immobile state. Firstly, for an unprepared person, this is the strongest stress, psychological stress at the limit of possibilities, and secondly, it is corny physically difficult. But the second problem is easier to solve - in the arsenal of snipers of the OBRSPN GRU there are many specialized exercises that help to activate blood flow in the body. The snipers of the 10th GRU special forces brigade are armed with not only standard SVDs, but also the best foreign samples - SSG-04, Truvelo.50BMG, etc.

In 1990, the irreversible process of the collapse of the empire began. The collapse of the Soviet Union was a heavy blow to the domestic armed forces - it affected primarily the elite types of troops. Firstly, the unified system of selection and training of personnel collapsed, the material base disappeared in an unknown direction. The newly formed states sought to acquire ownership of the maximum possible number of bases of special forces of military intelligence, the fleet, the Strategic Missile Forces - 10 OBRSPN, stationed in the Odessa Military District, was now part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Already in 1991, the 10th separate special purpose brigade of the GRU of the USSR was transformed into the 1st paratrooper regiment of the army of independent Ukraine. The material and technical base of the 10th brigade of brigades of the GRU, in accordance with the Belovezhskaya agreements, also became the property of Kiev.

It seemed that this was the end of the history of one of the best special forces brigades of the GRU of the Soviet Union - however, the situation at the beginning of the XXI century dictated the need to strengthen the Russian-Georgian border in the section from Krasnodar Territory to Dagestan. Molkino is a small village 150 kilometers from Krasnodar - it is known primarily for its military unit, where 10 OBRSPN are deployed. The military town in Molkino is exemplary, according to a rather capacious definition of one of the journalists who visited the 10th special forces brigade - rather resembles a sanatorium, albeit slightly "soviet"... If photographs of the barracks and classrooms can be found, then the layout of the objects of military unit 51532 is classified information. In the training class for preparing for guard duty there is a full-fledged model of the military town of VC 51532 with all buildings and communications - in the photo below is a small fragment of this model.

Voentorg Internet store "Voenpro" reminds its customers that the Day of the Military Intelligence Officer is just around the corner - take care of gifts for friends, relatives, and colleagues in advance. There are a variety of gifts for scouts and soldiers of the GRU army special forces - for example, we advise you to pay attention to comfortable steel ones.

Military unit 51532 began to form in Molkino in January 2003, but by May 1, a new part of the GRU special forces was already functioning. The main tasks of the 10th OBRSPN were announced from the very beginning: the protection of the southern borders, the fight against bandit formations and the control of the situation in the always restless North Caucasus. Detachments of the 10th Special Forces brigade were in Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Chechnya, Abkhazia, South Ossetia - hotbeds of tension here are a permanent phenomenon, fighters of the 10th Special Forces Special Forces brigade from Molkino from the very beginning to this day are in constant combat readiness.

In general, constant combat readiness is a normal, everyday state for individual brigades of the GRU special forces, which is why they are the elite of the RF Armed Forces and the pride of the nation. Voentorg Internet store "Voenpro" pays tribute to all OBRSPN GRU by creating, dedicated to each of them. In addition, our customers can find a lot of unique themed products - there is simply no better place to choose a gift for the Day of Military Intelligence. We recommend that you pay attention to a series of towels with the symbols of the domestic army special forces. For example, you can, with the traditional symbols of the Special Forces troops and the image of a pair of military scouts, by following the link to the product page:

The North Caucasus has always been a "powder keg" on the territory of Russia, therefore, special forces detachments of the 10th Special Forces Special Forces have to be constantly deployed far from Molkino in different parts of the region. One of the points of deployment of the units of the 10th brigade of the Special Forces is n.p. Bamut (Chechnya) - despite the fact that today it is relatively calm here, the guys are still forced to fight. During one of the clashes with bandit formations in January 2008, a serviceman of the 10th Special Forces Special Forces was killed - a special forces group of military intelligence (12-15 people) in the vicinity of Bamut stumbled upon a large detachment of militants, a battle ensued, as a result of which an ordinary army special forces died. Fortunately, such losses of personnel of the Special Forces troops are rare - despite the fact that reconnaissance groups of the 10th Special Forces Special Forces are often hunted here (it is known that militants can sit in ambush for weeks, hunting special forces and ignoring policemen or conscripts passing by), more often than not, military intelligence officers are head and shoulders above their opponents.

Soldiers of the 10th Special Forces brigade, completing the consolidated detachments in Bamut, Borzoi, Argali, Teberda, Gali, Tskhinvali, constantly replace each other. The special forces who constantly travel to hot spots, of course, have their own signs and talismans. The main mascot of military unit 51532 is the dog Barkas, who has already visited Chechnya three times, and certainly accompanies the soldiers of the Molka special forces brigade on exercises and combat trips. They say that if Barkas manages to jump into a departing car with special forces, there is no way to "expel" him from there - the dog has another "combat exit".

Due to the specifics of the tasks performed - after all, the North Caucasus, the training of the Molkinsky special forces is not limited to shooting, airborne troops, mining and similar, in general, standard training. The tasks can be related to the neutralization of terrorist groups, the release of hostages, the capture of militants. The forest closest to military unit 51532 has long been "occupied" by military intelligence officers. It is used as a kind of training ground - the special forces of military intelligence are practicing camouflage skills here, organizing ambushes and seizures - the real work of the special forces. It is characteristic that, for example, "days" in the forest, followed by the fulfillment of the task set by the commanders by the fighters of the 10th Special Forces brigade - "entertainment" every day.

Well, here is the result of the day: the fighters of the 10th Special Forces brigade, according to the scenario of the exercise, organized an ambush on a car with militants carrying important documentation. The enemy and important information are captured without unnecessary "noise and dust".

Well, we continue to acquaint our customers with the assortment of the Voenpro military department and remind us of the upcoming Special Forces Day in Russia - there is very little time left until October 24, it’s time to think about gifts for friends and colleagues. In our military shop there are both serious gifts and small, but interesting souvenirs - the latter, for example, can be attributed. Of course, they are made in the symbols of the army special forces of the GRU.

On August 8, 2008, the "five-day" war began with massive attacks on detachment 10 of the Special Forces brigade.

Three soldiers of the Molka special forces brigade were killed that day - among them was Raushan Abdulin, a private special forces of military intelligence, awarded the title of Hero of Russia (posthumously). During the battle, a Georgian tank, supported by ground forces, broke through into the territory of the town where the battalion of the 10th Special Forces brigade was stationed. The shelling of communications began - including the sanitary unit, where the wounded soldiers of the 10th special forces brigade and civilians were located, came under fire. Raushan Abdullin, with the support of S. Aboimov, moved towards the tank, but the commandos were noticed - a shot from a cannon towards the position of private 10 OBRSPN stopped the movement. A few seconds later, Raushan Abdullin came to his senses - despite multiple shrapnel wounds and concussion, the commando crawled to the Georgian tank and neutralized the danger with a shot from a hand grenade launcher. A private 10 spetsnaz brigade died on the battlefield from multiple wounds and blood loss. The twenty-year-old scout received the Star of the Hero posthumously. On the territory of the military unit 51532 in Molkino, it is planned to create a monument, and today the tribute to the memory of the deceased soldier of the 10th Special Forces brigade is paid in this way:

There is a small museum in the location of military unit 51532 - this is both a collection of trophies and the history of the unit and the Russian army special forces as a whole. Of course, the trophies of the "Five-Day War" in South Ossetia in 2008 take their place among the exhibits of the 10th OBRSPN Museum. In addition, there are non-standard weapons, clothing and equipment of militants seized in Chechnya. The pride of the 10th Special Forces brigade is an impressive rack with cups, certificates and medals, conquered by the soldiers of the 10th Special Forces brigade. On August 8, 2011, the location of military unit 51532 was visited by Dmitry Medvedev - on this day, the 10th separate brigade of the GRU special forces was awarded the Order of Zhukov. This order is awarded “for merits in conducting major military operations,” 10 OBRSPN became the first military unit to receive such an award. Since 1994, the Order of Zhukov in the Russian Federation has been awarded to the most distinguished representatives of the senior command staff - about 100 people wear this insignia. And since 2011, the only military unit is the 10th separate order of Zhukov's special forces brigade. If we continue talking about awards and incentives, it is worth noting that, starting in 2009, it is 10 OBRSPN that represents SKVO at the Victory Parade on May 9. The special forces from Molkino annually walk along the paving stones of Red Square under their banner.

The number of products of the Voentorg online store "Voenpro" dedicated to military intelligence and the GRU special forces has long exceeded a hundred - if you want to find a gift for your friend or colleague for the Day of Military Intelligence, the Day of the GRU Special Forces, the day of the unit or other memorable date, just visit our military agency. Among other things, the thematic product line includes document covers with symbols of military intelligence and special forces. To buy, for example, just follow the link.

It has already been said above that the material and technical base of the 10th OBRSPN is one of the best in the country. Here are collected the best examples of small arms, the most modern samples of high-tech devices for army special forces (reconnaissance drones, night vision devices, motion sensors, etc.), which have already won the prestige of the Tiger armored vehicles.

In addition, recently the 10th OBRSPN is the only unit of the RF Armed Forces, where the latest Russian armored vehicles "Lynx" are in service. Operation of "Lynx" causes an ambiguous reaction - for someone, for example, it is difficult to get used to an automatic transmission in an armored car. They say that the Lynx accelerates too slowly - a serious problem if it is necessary to evacuate a group of military intelligence special forces. However, in general, the reaction to the "Lynx" in 10 OBRSPN is rather positive - the special forces are pleased with the soft suspension, reliable (unlike the "Tigers") winch, "thoughtfulness" of the cabin (it is possible to unfasten the seat belts in a split second). In general, the armored car for the army special forces was made modern, quite reliable and moderately comfortable - the air conditioner, they say, works "perfectly."

Disembarkation of fighters of the 10th special brigade from the armored car "Lynx":

The 10th separate special-purpose brigade is deployed in a small settlement located at an impressive distance from major cities. However, fighters of the 10th Specialized Brigade often spend weekends in Krasnodar, 150 kilometers is 3-4 hours of travel. The infrastructure of the military unit 51532 is sufficiently developed so that the servicemen of the 10th Special Forces brigade can take some free time (which, by the way, is quite small). On the territory of HF 51532 there is a fairly modern cinema, which is open every evening. Of course, in the club for fighters 10 OBRSPN various events and, let's say, "hobby groups" are organized. Speaking about leisure, I would like to dwell on the best way for a man to spend his free time - sports and physical culture. In the 10th special forces brigade, the most close attention is paid to this issue, up to 3-4 hours a day are given to the physical training of military intelligence special forces soldiers from Molkino. On the territory of the military camp, a park has been organized with all the shells necessary for full development (bars, horizontal bar, etc.). In addition, the fighters of the 10th Specialized Brigade have the opportunity to devote their free time to a variety of sports games - basketball nets and football fields are available.

The bars and the horizontal bar are the best developmental exercises and friends of the GRU OBRSPN fighter, but in winter you will not get much pleasure from such shells in the fresh air. On the territory of the military camp of the 10th separate special forces brigade there is an impressive sports complex. The facility is designed for training fighters of the 10th OBRSPN in a gym equipped at a very high level, for practicing a variety of martial arts and sports games, and for holding competitions. I would also like to note the small sports corners that are available in each barracks - sports on the territory of the military camp 10 OBRSPN are really everywhere.

It would be surprising if our military department did not find a place for comfortable sportswear with the symbols of the Special Forces troops. We are ready to present to your attention shorts, sweatpants, T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts of various formats. We recommend, for example, to pay attention to the comfortable "Military Intelligence" shorts - these are really comfortable clothes for playing sports, jogging around the stadium or rough terrain. Natural cotton fabric, from which shorts (as well as T-shirts, pants, and sweatshirts) with the symbols of military intelligence and special forces of the GRU are made, is a guarantee of comfort during physical exertion. In order to just follow the link and place an order - the same applies to other types of sportswear presented in the Voentorg Voenpro online store.

A poster with the famous saying of A.V. Suvorov "It is hard in training - easy in battle." This familiar phrase exactly reflects the attitude of the soldiers and officers of the 10th Special Forces brigade to working days - this is one of the units where really high-class professionals of the Special Forces troops serve, who, among other things, are forced, among other things, to very often confirm their qualifications.

What did the 10th brigade do in Georgia?
Since the brigade's units were on the territory of Georgia for a long time (several years), they apparently managed to do a lot.Of course, you cannot tell about everything, but with a careful acquaintance with the materials major milestones all the same are drawn.

1. "Third force".
In 2008-09. the author of these lines spent a lot of time in the Tbilisi district of Krtsanisi, in a small mansion, which then housed the headquarters of the OSCE observer officers in the zone of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict. Among the various topics that we had time to discuss before the mission was closed under unprecedented pressure from Russia, the main one, of course, was the situation in the zone prior to 7 August. For a long time, the mission officers did not engage in serious conversation. As they later admitted, they did not want to be frank with the Russian.

But at some point they got to talking. The main observation they made in July 2008, which they eventually shared with me, was that a "third force" had emerged in the region.
- What is the "third force"? - I was amazed.
- The point is this, - they explained to me. - Skirmishes between the parties to the conflict - South Ossetians and Georgians - were, if not regular, but quite common. After each such attack, the OSCE officers went to the scene, examined it, identified the culprits, drew up a protocol, sent copies of it to the parties to the conflict, to the JCC, Kulakhmetov, and to their headquarters in Vienna. Everything was clear enough - yesterday the Ossetians were fired upon, today - the Georgians. Or vice versa. After the shelling, the identification of the culprits and the corresponding notions, the situation stabilized for some time. Until a new outbreak.

However, in the summer of 2008, the situation changed radically. First, the shelling has become much more daring and more professional. Secondly, professionally trained car explosions began to occur on the roads. Thirdly, it became unclear who was carrying out the explosions and shelling. One day Georgians will be fired upon, Georgians will immediately protest: "Again, these Ossetians have committed a violation!" OSCE officers go to the scene, investigate the evidence and circumstances, try to identify the culprits and are forced to come to the conclusion that the Ossetians could not have fired at the Georgians at such and such a time in such and such a place.

On another day, the shelling of the South Ossetians will take place, they have no limit to their indignation: "Again, these Georgians do not give life!" OSCE observers go to the site, examine it, try to identify the culprit and are forced to come to the conclusion that the Georgians could not have fired at the Ossetians at that time and in this place. After this kind of shelling was repeated several times, the OSCE observer mission came to the conclusion that a new - "third" - force appeared in the region, not Georgians and not Ossetians.

And who? - I asked almost automatically, at the same time catching myself thinking that I did not expect at all that I would now have to listen from the lips of foreign military to some regular tales about black forces, evil spirits, the elusive Joe and other nonsense usually told on dark evenings by seasoned citizens in some drunkenness.

The OSCE people were silent for a long time, obviously pondering whether to speak or not. Then, finally, they decided. And, looking at me gloomily, they said:
- Russians.
- Russians? - in amazement I could only repeat the same word with an interrogative intonation. - What kind of Russians?
The OSCE officials were silent for a little more. And then they said even more gloomily:
- Saboteurs. Professional saboteurs.
- Are you sure? - I could only ask.
They looked at me with longing, overflowing with undisguised pity for my civil naivete, and only shook their heads.

2. "C soldiers and officers of the GRU OBRSPN are required to be able to conduct and subversive activities ".
Among the educational courses for the special forces of the 10th brigade, a special place is occupied by preparation for sabotage and subversive acts:
The compulsory training program for servicemen of the 10th spetsnaz brigade includes demining. On the territory of military unit 51532 in Molkino, a training ground is equipped, where special forces of the 10th Special Forces of the Special Forces of Special Forces sharpen their mining skills, of course, having previously mastered the theory in the classroom ... There are many myths and legends about the training of special forces of military intelligence - of course, a lot of fiction, but the fact remains: in accordance with the charter, the soldiers and officers of the OBRSPN GRU are required to be able to conduct sabotage and subversive activities (for example, single-handedly derail trains or mine large industrial facilities.)

In a new light, I remembered the story of R. Abdullin's mother, who posthumously became a Hero of Russia:
« I called him on the 6th of August in the evening, and the tank was roaring in the receiver. "Where did you go?" - I ask. "Mom, call me back later, okay?" And the phone turned off.
Gulfruz Sergeevna sat and looked at the wall past me and Anna Viktorovna.

- And before that, I called on the second of August. He asks: "What day is it?" I say: "The second of August." - "No, what day is it?" “Saturday,” I say. "Today is the Day of the Airborne Forces, we have a holiday, they gave me an award." And what is the reward, did not say ».
http://www.kp.ru/daily/24145/362608/

What a rewardwas awarded to the commandos-paratrooper of the Airborne Forces R. Abdullin by his superiors August 2, 2008 , unknown. But the date of his awarding suggests what exactly he could receive his award for. The day before, on the morning of August 1, a car with Georgian policemen was blown up on the Eredvi-Kurt road, six were injured, five of them were seriously:

6 employees of the special forces were wounded today on the bypass road connecting the Maliy and Bolshaya Liakhvi gorges in the Tskhinvali conflict zone as a result of an explosion. At about 09:40 am, a pickup car with representatives of the Georgian special services was blown up by a mine. 5 of them were seriously wounded ...
According to Emzar Beruashvili, chairman of the meeting of the village of Maly Liakhvi, the explosion took place at about the place where a terrorist attack was carried out on the head of the provisional administration of South Ossetia Dmitry Sanakoev a month ago. Presumably, a remote-controlled explosive device was used, since the mines were planted at a distance of 10-15 meters from each other. The first explosion was soon followed by a second, control explosion.
The area where the incident occurred borders on the controlled Ossetian separatist slopes, where illegal armed groups are constantly hiding.
http://www.apsny.ge/news/1217608406.php

The bombing of a Georgian police car in the early morning of August 1 launched a long-developed operation. Believing that the terrorist act was committed by Ossetians, the Georgians in the evening of the same day carried out a retaliation operation, as in previous years, following the Israeli model, firing at the positions of the separatists, during which 6 employees of the South Ossetian security forces were killed. But instead of the usual calming down in such cases, the escalation of violence only intensified. The separatists responded with massive fire, so that on the night of August 1-2, real battles unfolded in the conflict zone, the number of killed on both sides went to dozens. Thus, by the morning of August 2, it became abundantly clear that the provocative terrorist attack on the road between Eredvi and Kurta not only led to the expected consequences, but also turned out to be extremely successful. On August 1, about 50 journalists from Moscow were brought to Tskhinvali, ready to cover the previously declared war. Now on August 2, on the day of the Airborne Forces, the special forces paratrooper R. Abdullin could be safely presented with the award he deserved.

3. "The main advantages of the mortar as a special forces weapon."
Does the reader remember what happened in the early morning of August 8 in the Upper Town, as told by the medics assigned to the peacekeepers? They reported in particular, that first there was a mortar shelling of the Upper town.

DZ: Mortar shelling along the fence went, and then it began with small arms. At the same time, they started shooting ...
AK: At first, they fired at us from small arms, but so, they were more frightened, most likely. It started somewhere around 5.50 ...
Thus, at about 5.50 am "along the fence" surrounding the location of the peacekeeping battalion in Verkhniy Gorodok, a mortar shelling began, followed by shelling from small arms. It was already noted above that during the shelling of Tskhinvali on the night of August 7-8, the Georgian units did not use mortars, and there were no Georgian infantry in the area of the Upper town on August 8 ...
If on August 8 there were no Georgian infantry in the area of the Upper town, if the Georgian units did not open mortar fire on Tskhinvali in the morning of August 8, then who exactly started firing at 5.50 am on August 8:
- from mortars and small arms,
- and at first they "scared, most likely",
- "along the fence" of the Upper town and the location of the peacekeeping battalion in the Upper town?
http://aillarionov.livejournal.com/563585.html

As you know, special-purpose units are armed with mortars. Moreover, according to experts, mortars have serious advantages for special forces.

The same applies to firearms - on the balance sheet of the 10th separate special-purpose brigade there are the newest models of foreign automatic weapons, sniper rifles, mortars, etc. .
http://voenpro.ru/voentorg/brelok-10obrspn

In the early 2000s, the 82-mm mortar 2 B14 (2 B14-1) "Tray" was adopted by individual detachments and special-purpose brigades. The main advantages of the 82-mm mortar as a special forces weapon are high firing accuracy and the power of ammunition, the possibility of concealed firing, a high rate of fire (10-25 rounds per minute) and the mobility of this artillery weapon system.
For firing from all domestic 82-mm mortars, fragmentation six-fins (old samples) and ten-fins mines, as well as smoke and lighting mines, are used. To increase the firing range, additional powder charges are hung on the mine (charge No. 1, 2, 3 and "long-range"). The mortar ammunition is carried by the crew in special trays for 4 mines or in packs of bags.

Silent mortar complex 2 B25
Currently, domestic designers are developing an 82-mm silent BShMK 2 B25 mortar complex and an 82-mm mortar with an increased firing range of up to 6000 m.
It is intended for special forces in order to ensure secrecy and surprise of combat use due to noiselessness, flamelessness and smokelessness when enemy manpower is damaged in personal body armor. The mass of the mortar is not more than 13 kg, the calculation is 2 people. The effectiveness of the fragmentation action of the mine is at the level of the standard 82-mm mine.
http://army-news.ru/2011/02/arsenal-specnaza/

The main advantages of the 82-mm mortar as a special forces weapon are not only its high firing accuracy, but also the possibility of concealed firing, as well as the high mobility of this artillery weapon system.
http://www.fastmarksman.ru/1_pyt/2_specnaz_8.ph p

Of course, the fact that one or another weapon is available does not in itself confirm its use. But then the testimony of other Russian military men who happened to be in the same places a few days later comes to the rescue.

Senior Lieutenant Artur Kurbanov recalls:
On August 11, our mortar battery took up a position south of Tskhinval. Having equipped the position, I went with a group of officers to the reconnaissance room. It was decided to inspect the nearby hills, to outline the landmarks. Not far from the dirt road, we found the destroyed position of our mortar battery. It was evident that the peacekeepers were fired upon, the firing points of our "samovars" were suppressed by superior fire. The abomination of desolation reigned all around, but the corpses of our peacekeepers were not.
We found a completely whole compass - a device for adjusting art fire PAB - 2. The device is completely intact and is always necessary on the farm. We took Boussol for ourselves.
http://maxpark.com/user/1954118055/content/1809568

A. Kurbanov does not doubt for a second about the identification of the mortar battery - in his opinion, it belonged to the Russian "peacekeepers". But in South Ossetia, “peacekeepers” in the language of military slang meant servicemen of only two subdivisions - the second battalion of the 135th infantry regiment and the 107th detachment of the 10th special forces brigade. At the same time, there is not a single evidence that Timerman's mortarmen left the territory of the Upper town and generally opened fire. In addition, Timerman, obviously, would not be easy to order them, and for them - to execute the order to open fire - on their own positions in the Upper town, even "along its fence."

However, the special forces, among whom the deputy commander of the group did not know by sight the commander of his neighbors from the 135th regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Timerman, to do this, apparently, was much easier.

4. "The best in the Union in terms of sniper training."
In the museum of the brigade, the foreman of the company of the 107th special forces detachment, Hero of Russia Mikhail Oganesyan spoke about the events of 2008. “On the seventh evening, the Georgians began shelling our positions from Grad installations and tanks. We tried to contact the Georgian formations, but they let the equipment in without explanation,” he said. “At 2 am Dmitry Medvedev called on space communications and asked to clarify Then he called again at 5 am, and at 7 am Vladimir Putin called. Then it became clear that this was a real attack, and the President gave the order to respond. "

The "company sergeant major" acting as a guide for the presidential journalistic pool is, of course, those spetsnaz-disinformation jokes. The same as the petty officer's "title of Hero". Here, as they say, one of them is sure to misinform: either the foreman and "Hero of Russia", or sites telling about the 10th brigade, according to which there is only one Hero - R. Abdullin.

But the most remarkable thing, of course, is the following Freudian confession of the "foreman":
«... and at 7 am Vladimir Putin called. Then it became clear that this was a real attack, and the President gave an order to respond. "

"Company Chief" and "Hero of Russia" Oganesyan this time seemed to be telling the truth. To understand what exactly was the "real attack" on the Upper town, when exactly it happened, and who exactly attacked whom, being at that time in Tskhinvali, as everyone understands, it was absolutely impossible. This could be done only from thousands of kilometers away, at the Olympics in the city of Beijing. In the course of the case, the "foreman" did "lay down" Vladimir Vladimirovich, revealing the main military secret of the Russian-Georgian war - who exactly gave the order to snipers of the 107th detachment at 7 am on August 8 to "answer", i.e. shoot senior lieutenants of the peacekeeping battalion Shevelev and Bobrov.

« Have honorably fulfilled their duty» .
Despite the fact that by the morning of August 8, the commander of the "peacekeeping battalion" K.Timerman had repeatedly received from the commander of the "peacekeeping forces" General M. Kulakhmetov a completely unambiguous order "Shoot to kill!" The upper town had already been subjected to small-scale and mortar fire from the "third force", Timerman nevertheless hesitated to open fire from his infantry fighting vehicles. First, he was well aware that opening cannon fire by him would mean a flagrant violation of his peacekeeping mandate. Secondly, in the face of the many times superior Georgian forces, this practically guaranteed suicide, if not personally to himself, then undoubtedly to many of his subordinates. Thirdly, Timerman still had neither a reason, nor even a reason to open fire on the Georgians - despite the shelling of Zemo-Nikozi from small arms started from the Upper town, the Georgians, who received an order from their command not to respond to the Russian peacekeeping contingent, they strictly followed it and continued to remain silent, despite the increasing provocations.

Timerman hesitated.

When, together with the commander of the reconnaissance platoon, Sergei Shevelev, he was returning from positions south of the Upper Town and was already approaching the command post arranged by Timerman in the medical unit, a sniper's bullet fired "Under the cover of small arms fire from all sides" from above (from the roof of the barracks?), Pierced Shevelev's neck and came out in his back at the seventh vertebra. It was the classic black mark. Timerman did not need to explain its meaning. He had little choice - either a possible shell from a Georgian tank, or a guaranteed bullet from a Russian sniper. Timerman chose the first.

It was then that the "Thunder" cannons mounted on the "peacekeeping" infantry fighting vehicles, put forward to open positions south of the Upper Town, started working on Zemo-Nikozi. It was then that the Georgian tanks could no longer fail to respond to the cannon fire, in five minutes, as at range firing, they burned BMPs violating the Dagomys agreements together with their crews. It was then that the corpses of Russian peacekeepers so demanded by Kulakhmetov and his superiors - military and political - were received. Now they could be presented to the Russian and world public, to shout all over the planet about the treachery of the Georgian military and to justify the massive invasion of Georgia by Russian troops that had been carried out for a long time by the need to “protect the lives of Russian peacekeepers”.

And three years later, Medvedev could already calmly come to the base of the 10th brigade in Molkino in order to award her with a high state award for merit "in the development and conduct of major military operations", i.e. for "the ability to make the right adequate decisions in a very difficult situation, selflessly carry out command assignments in the shortest possible time."
