How to understand the test and primary score of the exam. What is the primary and test score of the USE? Will USE results be posted online?

Each graduate who wants to become a student of one of the universities of the Russian Federation in 2018 faces a difficult task - to successfully pass the exam, as well as to choose the right educational institution and faculty for submitting documents. The majority of 11th graders and their parents are faced with the final exam assessment system for the first time and often find it difficult to find answers to the questions that arise. Therefore, we decided to shed light on important points.

In 2017-2018, the basic rules for passing the exam will not be significantly changed. This means that the 100-point system for grading final tests will still be relevant for graduates.

How is everything going?

During the examination of examination papers, for each correctly completed task, the graduate receives the so-called “primary scores”, which, upon completion of the examination of the work, are summed up and converted into a “test score”, which is indicated in the USE certificate.

Important! Since 2009, the scale for converting primary and test USE scores into traditional five-point grades for schools has not been officially used, because in 2017 and 2018 final exams are not included in the certificate.

Checking work is done in two ways:

  • automatically (with the help of special programs and technical means);
  • manually (the correctness of detailed answers is checked by two independent experts).

It is quite difficult to challenge the result of an automatic check. If the basic rules were not followed when filling out the answer table, the computer may not protect the result, and only the graduate himself, who did not follow a number of mandatory rules, will be to blame for this.

If controversial issues arise during the expert review, a third specialist is involved, whose opinion will be decisive.

When to expect results?

The following time limits apply by law:

  • data processing (for compulsory subjects) at the RCSC should not last longer than 6 calendar days;
  • for data processing (subjects of choice) RTsOI give 4 days;
  • verification at the Federal Testing Center should take no more than 5 working days;
  • approval of the results by the State Examination Commission - 1 more day;
  • up to 3 days to send the results to the USE participants.

In practice, from the moment of passing the exam to receiving the official result, it can take from 8 to 14 days.

Converting USE scores to grade

Despite the fact that officially in 2018 the scale for converting scores in USE subjects into a five-point grade is not used, many still want to interpret their result in a more familiar “school” system. To do this, you can use special tables or online calculators.

Table for converting OGE test scores into grades

Russian language

Mathematics

Informatics

Social science

Foreign languages

Biology

Geography

Literature

The second method is a little easier and more convenient than searching for the desired values in the cells of a huge table. Simply select a subject (mathematics, Russian, chemistry, physics, history, English, social studies ... and other subjects), enter the data and get the desired result in a matter of seconds.

We suggest trying how simple and convenient it is to use in practice the online calculators of the USE score and its conversion to a 5-point grade.

Internet systems for applicants

The academic year 2017-2018 is over, the exam has been passed, the results are known, and even the interactive scale for transferring primary scores showed that the USE result is in a fairly good range ... But, is this enough to enter the desired university?

Assess the real chances of entry, based on test scores and the minimum passing threshold set by the university.

Important! The minimum passing score is formed by the university itself. It will directly depend on the scores of applicants who apply in 2018. The more popular the specialty, the higher the passing score will be.

Often, at the TOP faculties, even 100-point results are not enough for admission to the budget. Only winners of the Olympiads, who give significant additional points, have a chance to see their last name in the lists of applicants for such areas.

In 2018, the most popular services for selecting a university and monitoring the entrance score threshold for various specialties will be:

  1. Ucheba.ru
  2. Apply online
  3. HSE calculator
  4. Postyplenie.ru
  5. Typical entrant

Finding these services is very easy. It is enough to enter their name into any search engine.

Modern exams are evaluated not on a five-point system, but on a hundred-point system. This means that you don't have to talk about the usual grades: twos, threes, fours, fives. An exam is considered failed if the threshold set for that exam is not passed. And for each subject this border is different. You can get an acceptable final score for yourself, but "fill up" the exam, losing the opportunity to enter a higher educational institution.

What are primary USE scores?

Each exam has its own structure. The USE in different subjects differs in the total number of tasks, the format of the test part, the complexity of tasks with a detailed answer. Assignments can be assessed by different numbers of points. This also applies to test tasks of various types: for the simplest of them you can get one point, for the most difficult - up to four or five points. These are primary scores.

Primary scores are the scores by which the student's responses are evaluated. If you can get up to two points for the correct performance of a task, these are not the two points that, together with others, add up to one hundred points. The number of primary points is different everywhere and depends only on the structure of the exam, but this figure is always less than one hundred. By the way, the Unified State Examination in foreign languages is an exception - there is no scale for transferring points and other subtleties, which means that the primary score can be considered final.

How many primary scores in the Unified State Examination in the Russian language?

The test part of the Russian language exam - 33 primary points.

The written part of the Russian language exam - 24 primary points.

In the Unified State Examination in the Russian language 57 primary points. Moreover, each score (as in any other exam in the USE format) has an equal "value". It doesn't matter in which part you earned points: when transferring to a hundred-point system, this is not taken into account.

What are secondary (test) USE scores?

It is no coincidence that the site has a scale for translating scores in Russian. With its help, primary scores become secondary. And this happens very simply: with the help of a special table, the primary scores are converted into test scores - a hundred-point system. - document, the requirements of which must be fulfilled. Not people are engaged in the transfer of points: the required value is calculated by a computer.

Secondary (test) scores are scores in a hundred-point grading system. It is by them that the fact of passing the exam (passing the threshold) is determined. On test scores, applicants enter universities. Secondary points are in direct proportion to the primary ones - the more primary points scored, the higher the final result.

How to convert primary points to secondary?

As mentioned above, for this you need to use . You can’t do without it: a difference of one primary score can raise or lower the final score by one or more points. It all depends on the number of primary points scored: in different parts of the table, the "price" of the primary point varies.

To get the maximum score - 100 points - for the Russian language exam, you must complete all tasks without errors. This is the scale of translation. But in the math exam, you can not do all the tasks correctly, but get the highest mark.

; primary and test scores? Let's find out!

The number of primary points varies in different subjects. Each completed USE task is estimated at 1 or more points. The sum of these scores is the primary score of the examination paper. Next, a correspondence is established between the primary and test scores (with the maximum test score always equal to 100).

The scale for converting primary scores into scaled scores depends on the complexity of the tasks and the statistical analysis of the USE results for all exam participants and is calculated using a special computer program. This scale is not linear.

What is scaling?

To make it clearer, let's look at the basic terms.

scaling- this is the procedure for converting primary points into test points, the process of forming rules for calculating test points based on test results based on statistical data. You can learn more about the scaling methodology in this document.
What are primary and test scores?

Primary score is the sum of marks for completed tasks. At the same time, a correctly completed task of part A or B is estimated at 1 point, part C - up to 4 points.
Test score- this is a score on a hundred-point scale, obtained with the help of special statistical processing of the completed forms at the stage of final processing of the results.

Another feature of the recalculation scale is that there is a slight change in the primary score at the edges of the scale (that is, with a primary score close to n, the primary score corresponds to 6 test scores in all subjects except foreign languages), while in the middle of the scale the change in the primary score by 1 changes the test score by 1 or 2.

Why are 60 test points awarded for 63% of completed tasks?

The percentage of correctly completed tasks is the number of correctly (partially correct) completed tasks in relation to the maximum possible score for the test. The final (test) score is a score given taking into account the difficulty of completing each task, and is determined by a specialized procedure - scaling.

How is the final score determined?

The specification for each subject indicates how many primary points are awarded for each correctly completed KIM task. When processing the examination paper, the primary scores for correctly completed tasks are summed up. Transfer to test scores is carried out by a special program using the approved scaling methodology.

Verification and processing of the USE forms in the Russian language and mathematics in the region should be completed no later than 6 days, and in other subjects - 4 days after the corresponding exam.

How many days are exam papers checked?

The regional information processing center must complete the processing of the USE forms in the Russian language and mathematics no later than 6 days after the corresponding exam. The terms depend on the size of the subject of the Federation, the presence of remote territories, the number of participants. 2 more days of work are checked at the federal level. Thus, information about the results in the Russian language is communicated to the USE participants, as a rule, after 8-10 days.

When is the minimum number of points announced?

The minimum number of USE scores for each general education subject is announced by Rosobrnadzor 6-10 days after the USE.

Please note that this year, for the first time, the minimum scores before passing the Unified State Examination 2013 have been published!

How many points do you need to score in Russian to get a "troika"?

The minimum threshold, confirming the successful passing of the exam, in 2008 was 40 points, in 2009 - 37 points. In 2012 and 2013, the minimum score in Russian was stopped at 36 test scores; (17 primary points).

In accordance with the current regulatory framework, since 2009 transfer of USE scores to a five-point system assessment, for putting a mark in the certificate is not carried out.

And if you didn’t get points in the Russian language or mathematics?

For a graduate to obtain a certificate, the results of the Unified State Examination in the Russian language and mathematics are important. Every year, during the main period of the USE (in May-June), after all USE participants pass the exam in the subject, Rosobrnadzor sets the minimum number of points. If you have achieved it, then you will receive a certificate. If a graduate does not gain the required minimum in one subject, then he can be retaken on reserve days (see the USE Schedule section). If the results are low both in the Russian language and in mathematics, a certificate is not issued. Such a graduate receives a certificate. You can retake the exams and get a certificate only next year.

When will individual USE results be known?

The terms and procedure for familiarizing with the results of the USE are determined by the education authority of the region, while it is established that the results of the USE should be communicated to the participants of the USE:
in the main terms no later than 3 working days from the date of issuance of the order of Rosobrnadzor on establishing the minimum number of points in the relevant general education subject
in additional terms - within 3 days after the approval of the protocols of the results of the Unified State Examination of the SEC.

Where can I find the results of the exam?

A graduate of the current year learns the results of the Unified State Examination at his school, other participants of the Unified State Examination - in the PES or in another way, which is established in each region by the education authority. Information about the results of the exam is provided free of charge!

Are the USE scores converted into grades according to a 5-point system?

In accordance with the current regulatory framework, since 2009, the transfer of USE scores to a five-point assessment system has not been carried out. When conducting the exam, a hundred-point assessment system is used. It is envisaged to establish a minimum number of USE scores (minimum threshold) for each general education subject, confirming that a graduate has mastered the basic programs of secondary (complete) general education.

What is the maximum score?

The results of the exam are evaluated according to a hundred-point system. The maximum score for each subject is 100.

Will USE results be posted online?

The publication of the USE results at the federal level was tested during the experiment. Now, according to the current regulatory legal documents, the subjects of the Russian Federation are responsible for informing USE participants about the results. In some regions, a decision has been made to post the results of the exam on the Internet. In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, such a decision has not yet been made.

We will be announced the number of points received, but how can we look at our work?

You can view your work when considering an appeal of disagreement with the scores. The conflict commission requests printed images of the examination work of the graduate who filed the appeal from the RCOI, which are then presented to the USE participant. Examination papers completed by USE participants are stored in the regional information processing center (RTsOI).

What does it mean to "receive information about the results of the exam"?

This means knowing the scores you got on the exam. Local self-government bodies of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation are responsible for notifying USE participants about the results of passing exams. The information scheme should be communicated to the participants in advance. A graduate of the current year learns the results of the Unified State Examination at his school, other participants of the Unified State Examination - in the PES or in another way, which is established in each region by the education authority. As a rule, this happens within 6-10 days after the exam.

The system for evaluating USE results is not easy: instead of the usual "fours" and "fives", you will encounter primary and test scores. What is the primary and test score is easy to understand. It is much more difficult to figure out exactly how the primary scores are converted into test scores.

Primary and test USE score: definitions

Primary score- it preliminary USE score. The primary score is obtained by summing the grades for correctly completed tasks. For example, a correctly completed task of Part A or Part B is worth 1 point, Part C - up to 6 points. The maximum number of primary points for all tasks of control measuring materials (CMM) in different subjects ranges from 39 to 80 points.

Test score- it final USE score. It is obtained from the primary using a special table. Each year, each subject has its own special table.

Example: in 2013, a graduate received a primary score of 35 on the exam in history. According to the table, his test score will be 58 / And his deskmate, passing the same story, received one primary score more - 36. His test score on the table will already be 60.

The number of test scores to be strived for must be above the minimum set for this subject. But, as a rule, graduates who are going to receive higher education know in advance how many test scores they need to score to enter the university for the chosen specialty, since universities publish this information.

Converting primary scores to test scores

As we have already said, there are tables for converting primary scores into test scores. The USE assessment system is such that even knowing your primary score, a graduate will not be able to accurately determine his test score on his own, since new tables are compiled every year. It takes 6-8 days to convert primary points into test points.

However, in fairness, it is worth noting that the tables of different years do not differ very much: for some subjects, the number of test scores remains the same, for some it changes by 2-3.

The 2018-2019 academic year will be the graduation year for many Russian schoolchildren who are already concerned about successfully passing the Unified State Exam and successfully entering a good university.

We will tell you how exam papers are checked in various subjects, how the scale for converting USE scores into grades works, and what innovations can be expected in 2019.

Principles for evaluating the work of the USE 2019

Over the past few years, the USE system in a number of subjects has undergone significant changes and has been brought to the optimal (according to the organizers) format, which allows to fully assess the amount of knowledge of a graduate in a particular subject.

No fundamental changes are expected in 2018-2019, and we can say with confidence that the same principles will be applied to evaluate the work of graduates as in 2017-2018:

  1. automated verification of forms;
  2. involvement of experts in checking tasks with detailed answers.

How does the computer evaluate?

The first part of the examination paper involves a short answer to the questions posed, which the USE participant must enter in a special answer form.

Important! Before starting work, be sure to read the rules for filling out the form, as an incorrectly executed work will not pass an automated check.

It is quite difficult to challenge the result of a computer check. If the work was not counted due to the fault of the participant who incorrectly filled out the form, the result is equated to unsatisfactory.

How do experts evaluate?

In many subjects, in addition to the test part, there are tasks that require a full detailed answer. Since it is impossible to automate the process of checking such answers, experts are involved in the verification - experienced teachers with a long work experience.

When checking the exam, the teacher does not know (and even with a strong desire cannot find out) whose work lies in front of him and in which city (region) it was written. Verification is carried out on the basis of uniform assessment criteria developed specifically for each subject. Each work is checked by two experts. If the experts agree, the assessment is put on the form, but if independent appraisers disagree, then a third expert is involved in the verification, whose opinion will be decisive.

That is why it is important to write legibly and accurately so that there is no ambiguous interpretation of words and phrases.

Primary and test scores

Based on the results of the test, the USE participant is awarded a certain number of primary points, which are then transferred to text (points for the entire test). In different subjects, a different maximum of primary points is provided, depending on the number of tasks. But after bringing the result according to the corresponding table, the USE participant receives the final test score, which is the official result of his final tests (maximum 100 points).

So, in order to pass the exam, it is enough to score the established minimum threshold for the initial score:

Minimum points

Literature

Focusing on these numbers, you can accurately understand that the exam has been passed. But what kind of assessment? The 2018 online scale will help you with this, designed specifically for converting primary USE scores into test ones, which will also be relevant for the results of 2019. A handy calculator can be found on the website 4ege.ru.

Announcement of official results

Graduates are always concerned about the question - how quickly can you find out what result was obtained when passing and what will be the scale for converting points scored on the exam into traditional grades in 2019.

Teachers are often taken to reassure students by working through the tasks of the USE tickets immediately after the exam and evaluating the quality of the work done by the pupils and the amount of primary points scored. Official results must be expected for 8-14 days, according to the established regulations for the USE-2019. On average, the organizers approve the following inspection schedules:

  • 3 days to check the work;
  • 5-6 days for information processing at the federal level;
  • 1 working day to approve the results of the SEC;
  • 3 days to post results online and transfer data to educational institutions.

In the event of unforeseen situations and technical problems, these terms may be revised.

You can find out the owl score:

  • directly at your school;
  • on the check.ege.edu.ru portal;
  • on the gosuslugi.ru website.

Converting points to grade

Since 2009, the results of the USE have not been included in the graduate certificate. Therefore, today there is no official state system for translating the USE result into an assessment on a school 5-point scale. As part of the introductory campaign, the test score scored in the exam is always summed up and taken into account. But, many students are still interested to know how they passed the exam - 3 or 4, 4 or 5. For this, there is a special table that details the correspondence for each of the 100 points for each of the subjects.

Using such a table is quite inconvenient. It is much easier to find out how you passed the Russian language, mathematics or history using the 4ege.ru online calculator, which also contains the USE score conversion scale, which is relevant for 2019 graduates.

Having received the result of the exam, it is worth deciding on the university as soon as possible, comparing your capabilities with the real competition for the specialties of interest. Thus, the practice of past years shows that in a number of cases it is difficult to get into the most popular areas in the capital's universities even with high scores, because not only the holders of 100-point USE results, but also winners of the largest Olympiads of the 2018-2019 academic year will compete for places.
